DIY: Glitter Mirror Tutorial!

Guess who's back? That's right, me! And since it's been so long since I was last on here, I come bearing a tutorial for you all. Ever seen those super cute glitter compacts or the awe-inspiring deco projects that have you squealing 'kawaii~' every time you see them? Yeah, it's easier than I thought! So without further ado, let's get this tute started!!

You will need;
+ A compact mirror of your choosing, I've gone for my Body Shop eyes palette simply because I didn't like the design on the front and I take it pretty much everywhere with me.

+ A nail file
+ Glitter, preferably fine glitter but any works okay.
+ PVA Glue or Mod Podge
+ An old paint brush and
+ A mixing bowl (I've used a tint bowl that I usually use for hair dye)

Step 1; Start with your mirror and clean the surface so that you have something nice and dust/fluff/dirt free. I just wiped it with a baby wipe to remove mascara etc that I'd gotten over the sides.

Next take your file and scratch up the surface of the mirror with the file. Doing this creates a rough surface for the glue to stick to and means that it will last longer (hopefully!)

Step 2; Take your mixing bowl and pour some glue into the bottom, opening your glitter and pouring just enough to create a paste. You want to be able to use it like paint, but still have enough glitter in there to fill the space.

Step 3; Using your old paint brush, paint a thin layer of the mixture onto your mirror. Don't worry if it looks thin and patchy right now because this is just the first layer.

Step 4; Wait for the first layer to dry before painting on a second layer. Continue this process until your mirror is completely covered and there are no more gaps in the glitter. I think I had to paint about 3 or 4 layers on mine.

Step 5; This step is optional, but for that deco-phone case look, you can find (or make, like I did) some small cabochons and rhinestones/pearls to stick onto your glitterfied mirror. Once everything is stuck in place and dried, you are ready to use your new mirror!

Thanks for reading, and good luck!

Mini Nail Polish Haul and NOTW: Glitterball!

So recently I took a trip into town for hair dye and pressed powder, only to find that Superdrug have an offer on their Rimmel nail polish - 3 for 2!

So anybody who reads my blog will know by now that I like nail polish, right? Right. I love it, so I couldn't pass up this offer! I bought three colours and I was so excited to try them that my nail of the week is using all three!! xD

So the first colour I bought was a pretty purple shade called How Do You Lilac It? Its a really nice pastel shade with a sort of pinky undertone and I think it may be my new favourite colour!

The second colour is called Silver Bullet, and it's a very sheer and shimmery white colour, that almost looks silver in certain lights.

The third colour is a glitter polish and is called Disco Ball. It has different sizes and varied colours inside clear polish. There are pinks, blues and silvers as far as I can see, and it works so well with the other two shades!

NOTW: All three colours together!

July Favourites!

I know that it's a little bit late but I had a few things lined up for this post at the beginning of August and just kept forgetting to write the post so, at long last, I've managed to haul my ass onto Blogger and it's here!!

There are a few products on my list and a couple that aren't cosmetic products (or even products) so I feel I have a good variety to share with you all! I hope you enjoy the post. :D

Okay, so the first product I have in my July favourites are for your hair, and they are Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL hair dyes! I used the Shake It Up Foam Colour in Black Velvet Crush - I've used this on the lower half of my hair and it's true to the name - it made my hair look like black velvet! I love the colour, it smells like strawberries so there's no nasty chemical smell. The only downside is that you get a lot of dye and I only really need a quarter of the amount it gives me so I have to waste a lot of dye.

The second product in my July favourites is a food! It's Wrigley's Extra sugarfree gum in STRAWBERRY. I didn't even know this existed til recently, I think it's new? But omg it's amazing and I am addicted. Like seriously, take me to gum rehab. I can't stop chewing this stuff! Love it!!

Product number three is the Radiance Brightening Moisturiser with SPF10 from Simple - I recently have been going through having a dry face and this moisturiser is AMAZING. It has mango extract to hydrate, bisabolol to soothe and calm, glycerin to nourish, pro-vitamin B5 to restore, soften and smooth, vitamin E to moisturise and vitamin C, which is an antioxidant. It's been working really well to keep my face hydrated and get rid of the dryness, it also gives my face a very smooth and bright look which I loooove! Definitely going to be buying more of this!

Numero quatro is my makeup mirror! I put this in because last month I decided it was too boring, and I covered it in glitter and pink things. It's so freakin' shiny and pretty, I had to include it in this post. :')
On top of the mirror, my glitter wedges!! I did them the day after my mirror and I have yet to wear them out but will be doing so very soon! I'm so excited to show off my shiny handywork to everyone!

And last but not least, my favourite person of the month - Skyler! He goes by the username SegaSky on most sites/devices and we met through a friend a little while ago on Twitter. He was actually spoiling an episode of WWE Raw for me and I thought he was really funny and kinnnda cute, too. We spoke a little more and it developed into friendship and now it's just plain ol' love. He's amazing and just makes me go akjshdskjdh all the time - it's so sad that he lives so far away. :(
Love you my bby Skysky!! <3 xo

Annd that's the end of the post.
Thanks for reading, see you next time! :3

Glitzy Pink Nails Tutorial!

So I get a lot of questions on what colour nail polish my glitter nails are, and I think it puts them off when I tell them that it takes more than one colour to do - maybe they think that it's too complicated? Who knows, but I decided that since so many people asked me irl, I would post a (sort-of) tutorial online.

The reason I call this a 'sort-of' tutorial is because I'm still not sure that I'm any good at this stuff!
However I have pictures to explain what I'm blabbering on about today, so without further a-do, here's the tutorial!

Step 1: Apply a base coat to your nails in order to protect them - I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. (I did this the night beforehand, hence the changes in lighting)..

Step 2: Apply a hot pink colour to all of your nails, but just one coat. The reason we only apply one coat is so that the colours don't build up and you end up with really thick layers of polish on your nails - I've found it's more prone to chip the thicker it is. I used 17 Supreme Shine Miami.

Step 3: Apply a sheer light pink over the hot pink colour, again, you'll only need one coat. This time it's so that we can still see the darker pink through the light one. I used 17 Supreme Shine Pinking Shear.

Step 4: Apply a glitter polish! Any nail polish with glitter is fine - I've just used an off-brand polish I got in a set. You do want it to be a clear polish, though, otherwise you won't really see the pink you just put on! My polish has silver sparkles, and they work with any colour polish - as you've seen, I've used it with blue, silver, pink, gold, black, etc - however you could use glitter of the same colour, e.g. using pink glitter on pink nails.

Step 5: Apply a top coat and you're done! Here is the finished look:

I hope this tutorial was easy to understand! Thanks for reading!

First FOTD - Dramatic & Neutral.

So the make-up I would have worn to NKOTBSB is a sort of natural, yet dramatic look.

I used a light, almost white colour all over the eyelid and on the inner corner, then used a beige colour on the outer half and a dark brown to fill in my crease. I blended the dark brown above the crease slightly, too, and put my usual white highlight on the brow bone. I then used Collection 2000's Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip eyeliner to create a big, dramatic line across my eye, ending it with a wing. I used my Body Shop pencil eyeliner on my waterline and then my Maybelline Falsies Volum' Express mascara on curled lashes to finish the look.

I am wearing a mixture of peach and baby pink blushes and have my Candy Doll Ramune Pink lipstick on. I'm also wearing my Super+ BB Cream (the pink one) and Rimmel London Clear Complexion pressed powder in 021 Transparent.

Sorry for the over-processed picture - I know that you can't really see much of the make-up on my face at all, but I haven't got hold of any better picures. I'll try to find something better for you guys, but in the meantime, bare with me! xo

First OOTD - What I Would Have Worn To NKOTBSB!

Yes, would have!
I was supposed to go see NKOTBSB (that's New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys, for those who don't know) with my 'best friend' a week ago. I spent over £300 on train tickets and two VIP tickets for us both, only for her to basically screw me over and I ended up not going since I would have ended up stranded in London had we not gone, etc. Turns out she went with her Mum instead. I was devastated, to say the least. Long story short; It didn't go how I wanted.

HOWEVER, I did buy a new jumper in honour of the event and I was planning this ootd for a while, so I figured why not go ahead and do it anyway? Now since this is my first, I'm not sure how well it works with the pictures, etc. But enough explaining and onto the outfit!

So the outfit consists of my American flag jumper, which I got from New Look. I think it was about £22? Something like that. It's by Cameo Rose and has the stars down one sleeve, stripes down the other. Pretty cute and at a good price, too.

I just wore a little brown vest underneath it - also from New Look but not sure how much for - probably around £10, maybe.

I tucked both tops in on the front right side of my jeans - these jeans are slashed/ripped jeans from Criminal Damage in a sort of acid wash dark grey colour. I can't remember how much they were but I bought them from Blue Banana's website so you can check there - I'm pretty sure they still sell them.

I wore a pair of skin colour tights underneath and my pink studded belt (also from Blue Banana), then paired the outfit with my black lace up wedges from New Look (£25), however I was planning to wear my black Jeffrey Campbell Litas once they arrived in the post. (Seperate post coming soon for those, I think!)

So that's it! I hope you liked it and let me know if you'd like to see more ootd posts from me.
I think I'll put up a fotd for this outfit, too, since I had my make-up planned to co-ordinate. I know, I over-planned, but I was supposed to be meeting Backstreet Boys - I had to look my best! ;D

Pink Hair!

So I got rid of the purple in exchange for a dark pink!
It was originally supposed to be a dark red colour, but when I recieved the dye in the post it looked more pinky. I got suspicious and opened it up, testing the colour on a blonde extension, and what colour did it turn out? Pink!!

It didn't bother me too much, tho, I've always wanted to go pink but never had the balls - this gave me that push to actually do it at last - I wasn't about to waste £8s worth of hair dye! xD

About a day after I first dyed it - it was so bright!!

A few weeks later and it faded to this colour, I think it still looks quite nice :P
